Day 3 - Turtle Race Review and Basket Catch Part 1
Turtle Race Review First we will go over yesterday's turtle race program. We did have a few hiccups as working with images is difficult. We should only work with images that are pngs with a transparent background. Remember characters should be resized to be about 40 - 50 pixels high so that they fit in the screen, and they need to be rotated 90 degrees to the left. You may have to resize your background image, and screen.setup() should be the same size as your background image. The complete turtle race code from period 6 has been provided for us to review. If you would like to make an existing image have a transparent background, or even make yourself into a character, follow Mr. Halstead's tutorial or use the site remove.bg Basket Catch Part 1 Today we will start a basket catch game. Please REMIX this project to get started. It should be a little easier than Friday because I have already imported the required images. Homework:

We will review the Turtle Race program from yesterday. (See Edsby for the link if you were not here or you could not get your code to work (be sure to REMIX and SAVE)) IMPORTANT - before modifying your working code, copy it; rename the copy (ie. turtle race day 2) That way if something goes wrong, you have your last working version (trinket does not keep track of your coding history) This is an important day; to make your final project standout, you will use your own images! We will build on what we did yesterday by adding pictures to our projects!
We will also learn about the screen.setup() method that allows us to have a fixed window size. New commands: screen.setup(xLen, yLen) screen.bgpic("imageName.jpg") screen.addshape("characterImage.png") turtle.shape("characterImage.png") Day 1 - Turtle Race - Using multiple turtles
Today we're going to make a little turtle race game in Trinket! Please head to trinket.io and create a new account. We will learn how to:

Today is a fresh start. Everything will seem a little easier! You are NOT to be finishing off Python Turtle programs from the last unit! Those have been checked. If you did not get them all done you need to use your class time more effectively and start coming in at lunch to work on CS. Remember: You need to code in front of me in order to convince me that you can program! I am happy to help as needed.
