Question of the Day:
Would you rather have a name everyone misspells or a name everyone forgets? I notice that the blog posts published out of order yesterday, which is crazy annoying! I hope that you all saw it published one blog post below Monday's. Although it should have been done yesterday, if you haven't yet finished Zombie, here are the videos to complete the Zombie scenario in Greenfoot. You should only need Video 4. If you have your own headphones that can plug into the auxillary, then great! If not, then I can lend you some. Please return them back in the bag they came in at the end of class. Then, if you have not done so yet, please head to this page to download the Mario Scenario to your :D drive. You will need to EXTRACT IT FIRST. THEN work on the open file. See the Project Outline on the page for info about what you need to make your project do. Your Zombie Scenario should be fully working at this time, and your Mario Scenario should be about half way completed by the end of today's class. If you need to download greenfoot at home, please head to the link here and choose Windows if you have a PC, or Mac OS X if you have a Macbook or iMac Hi folks!
Sorry I'm away today. Hopefully I'm back tomorrow. Today you are to use the videos in this link to complete the Zombie scenario in Greenfoot. If you have your own headphones that can plug into the auxillary, then great! If not, there are ones at the front of the room. Please return them back in the bag they came in at the end of class. Please watch Video 4 from 7:05 until the end. Note that some variable and function names will be different from the ones we've used. Also note that the slides are slightly different from how they are now, but have mostly the same challenges. If you finish, please go to this link to download the Mario Scenario to your :D drive. You will need to EXTRACT IT FIRST. THEN work on the open file. See the Project Outline on the page for info about what you need to make your project do. Looking forward to seeing your Zombie scenario fully working, and your Mario Scenario started when I get back! Question of the Day:

Would you rather listen to an annoying laugh for a whole day or get tickled for one hour? Today is your FOURTH day for working on your Helping Project. You should be finishing up your shopping cart screen, and starting your Checkout screen. This should display an overview of the purchases, including number of items purchased, a subtotal, gst (5%), pst (7%), and an overall total. (Don't forget to use toFixed() to reduce the decimals down to 2 points!) There should be a place for people to enter a credit card number (16 digits). A note: Be sure to double check the project outline so that you don't miss anything! Added Test Review Document: Lists, Loops, and Traversals Review I will provide an answer key to this tomorrow Question of the Day:
Would you rather have someone tell you the brutal truth or have them lie to protect your feelings? It is THIRD day to work on your project. You should have your items displaying, and being added to your cart when you press the "Add to Cart" button. Today you should be working on displaying all of your cart's items, as well as displaying the subtotal. If you are planning on removing items from your cart, you should be working on this as well. We'll take a few minutes to discuss the toFixed() function, as you'll need this to round the decimal values that might come up when you start to calculate the taxes. Heads up: I am planning on having you write a test on Monday. This will be a multiple choice test on lists, loops and traversals. You've been practicing all of this for the past month at least. Test Review Resources: Lists multiple choice practice For and While Loop Worksheet List, Loops, and Traversals Notes You can see all resources from this unit here So that you have something to do after your test, you can have until Tuesday next week to finish the project. This will give you a little time to "clean" things up before handing in the project. |
